The Fast Seneschal is a knight of Plort. He is a companion of Karrin the Blue and Baron Thanasius Ampelius.
The Tale of the Fast Seneschal[]
Once upon a time, in the far land of Autor among the Tribe of the Moon Witch, was a seneschal whose name is lost to time, as he was a man of few words who preferred his work to define him. As such, he came to be know as the Fast Seneschal.
He lived happily among the Tribe, his work appraised by the benevolent Moon Witch herself, but also ofter wandered the continent to learn the costumes of the other lands of Autor.
Unfortunately, this was not going to last. The once lush lands inhabited by the Tribe dried out, and the Seneschal departed with a small group of fellow Tribe members towards the continent of Weab. There, they settled in a small valley known as Spli'der.
It was a peaceful time for the Seneschal, who divided his time between refining his smithing techniques and learning the languages of the new land. Strife followed him, however, as a landslide hit the valley, rendering it uninhabitable. His small group dispersed, some forced to leave even their weapons buried. The Seneschal wandered the continent of Weab, never settling in a single place for more than a few days. The lands of Weab were beautiful, but now that he was alone he felt he could never find a place he could call home.
One day, as he was passing through the land of Tivit, he heard of the Union of Plort, in the continent of Konti-Nyuum. Intrigued, he bartered a ride on a merchant ship headed to the coastal town of Skypch't. The denizen of the land were nice, and the Seneschal suddenly felt as if he was back in the lands of his tribe. As he decided to settle there, however, he heard of the threat posed by the Marizu. Eager to help, the Seneschal pledged his loyalty to the Barons, and after a short deliberation Baron Neshomeh knighted him.
As such, he began taking part in campaigns against the Marizu, spending most of the time he was not on the battlefield refining his weapons and learning the art of Beytah. He eventually met a mage called Karrin the Blue, whom he took as an apprentice after learning she was also knowledgeable in the lyrical arts of the Autor land of Nano'ha, and they eventually settled in the abandoned Monastery of Spectacle. They eventually also met a monk named Thanasius Ampelius, and the three soon began a friendship forged through their battles against the Marizu.
Upon Thanasius becoming a baron himself, the Seneschal allowed the monastery to become his baronial seat, and pledged his allegiance to him as a knight. Soon afterwards, the Seneschal departed for a long campaing against the Marizu leader Vera the Heartbound and her army.
It was a long campaign lasting five years, towards the end of which the Seneschal encountered by chance Aelit, one of the former Tribe of the Moon Witch members who had tried settling with him in Spli'der Valley. Together, they defeated Vera and the Seneschal headed back to home.
At his arrival at the Monastery of Spectacle, however, he was met by a desolate scene. The monastery had been abandoned, and there was no trace of its denizens. Ever the wanderer, the Seneschal looked for his Baron and his fellow Knight, He eventually met them, and discovered they had relinquished their titles due to strife that imperversed the Confederation of Diskord in his absence.
While he respected the new ruler of land where he lived, Baron PC the Poor Cinick, the Seneschal decided his time in the Union of Plort had come to an end. He accepted an invitation by Aelit to come live in the Weab nation of Ayohtree, and set sail there. He occasionally returned to the Union to sell his metalworkings, said to be especially appreciated by Baron Huinesoron.
The Weapons of the Fast Seneschal[]
The Seneschal's specialty was always metalworking, which he often put to use to manifacture weapons for himself and others. His signature weapon is Sergio, a crossbow he built in his time with the Tribe of the Moon Witch. The first weapon her ever built, and said to be originally as crude as a Marizu's weapon, the Seneschal modified and refined Sergio throughout his life eventually turning it into a fine and powerful weapon.
Upon a voyage in a Autor land ruled by the Sisters of the Clamp, the Seneschal saw a staff finely decorated with cherry blossoms. Awestruck, he took it as an inspiration to build a sword with the same theme. The weapon was unnamed and incomplete by the time he had to leave the lands of the Tribe, though, and for a time he stopped working on it believing he couldn't do justice to its inspiration.
Upon his knighting, the Seneschal found that his crossbow alone was not enough to fight the Marizu, and as such he built himself a shield with help of the lyrical arts he learned in Nano'ha, patterned and enchanted like those used in those lands. This shield, which he called Corolla, was renowned throughout Plort as his finest work, and considered by Baron Huinesoron to be "the best shield ever made".
Some time after his knighting he also mustered up the will to finish his sword, which he named Nikki. The blade ended up saving his live during one of his duels against Vera the Heartbound, in which the Marizu leader had managed to damage his crossbow.
During the same campaign he also built a longbow, named Ami. He never settled back in Konti-Nyuum after building the weapon, so not much is known by Plort historians about it but it is said to shoot its arrows exceptionally far while being as silent as a ghost.
