The Republic of Iric was one of the nations of the Union of Plort, up until its collapse. It considered itself a successor state to the Kingdom of Chaett, and was considered rather unusual by the people of the other lands. While its barons were responsible for military matters, actual government lay in the hands of individuals known as ‘Ops’. A further innovation of Iric was the ‘Dars’, who served as a combined police force and mediation service.
The fall of Iric was first reported by Baron Huinesoron, as recorded in An Adventure in the East. Its precise causes are not entirely known.
